Palapas Restaurant
Palapas brings the ambiance and flavors of tropical Mexico to the Monterey Bay in a unique way. Enjoy ocean views from every dining table and outside patio dining on our two decks. In addition to featuring authentic traditional dishes of Mexico, our menu offers fish, shellfish and sauces of the coasts of both Mexico and California. Our full bar is stocked with fine wines and the most extensive tequila list on the Central Coast.
All of our dishes are prepared "A la Cocina Fresca" - "In the fresh kitchen method," a Spanish phrase that means exactly what it implies... freshly-made sauces, homemade corn tortillas and fresh local seafood and produce prepared daily.

Camarones del Golfo a la Parrilla
Charbroiled gulf prawns prepared with fresh garlic, orange juice and guajillo chile sauce.
Atun Estilo Japones
Thin slices of raw, fresh ahi tuna served on a bed of cabbage with cucumber and Japanese wasabi.
Coctel de Camarones del Golfo
Cooked gulf prawns in a chilled glass with a tangy blend of tomato and lime juices, chopped avocados and cucumbers.
Coctel de Ceviche
Large chilled cocktail glass filled with tomato juices, cooked and marinated shrimp and octopus, crab seafood and tender calamari garnished with cucumber, avocado, cilantro and fresh lime.

Pozole del Mar
Savory combination of fresh fish, crab legs, prawns, calamari, red snapper and hominy cooked slowly in a seafood-tomato-chile-pozole broth.
Hauchinango de Alta Mar Estilo Tropical
Fresh, charbroiled red snapper fillet with a light tomatillo sauce underneath, topped with a ranchera sauce, guacomole and salsa fresca.
Pescado de Alta Mar Estilo Tropical
Center cut of fresh Swordfish, charbroiled and topped with a fresh pineapple salsa, tomatillo sauce and avocados.
Enchiladas de Cangrejo or Enchiladas de Camarones
Two corn tortillas filled with select crab meat or sauteed rock shrimp, cooked in nuevo Mexico chile sauce and topped with guacamole, sour cream and tomatillo sauce.

Choice charbroiled rib-eye steak, marinated in garlic, fresh lime juice, wine and olive oil served with a tomato-tomatillo sauce and chopped avocados.
Chiles Rellenos con Guacomole
Prepared daily, two roasted green chiles stuffed with cheese, egg-battered and deep fried, topped with a fresh roasted tomato ranchera sauce and guacomole.
